Small businesses are the bread and butter of our economy. When you choose to shop at local stores or support small businesses in your neighborhood, you’re helping to keep money circulating right here where you live. Local businesses pay taxes that help our town or city government. This money is used to make our community better. But big stores sometimes get special deals from local governments that small businesses don’t get. When we spend our money at those big stores far away, our community doesn’t get that money back to make things better here.
